2003 Year in Review

Testing at High School

I am visiting all 9th and 10th grade English classes this week. I will distribute student/parent brochures that provide details about the upcoming standardized tests. The Explore test for freshmen and the PLAN test for sophomores will be taken during the morning of Tuesday November 4th. Parents are encouraged to read and discuss this information with their child.

Copies of the October/November Fastweb student bulletin are available during the lunch periods from me. This issue highlights college application and essay tips and common application errors to avoid.

Sauk Valley Community College is hosting a college night on Tuesday November 4th from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Over 80 representatives from universities, colleges, and technical schools will be present. At 8:00 there will be a financial aid presentation. See me for a list of participants.

On Friday October 17th 39 MHS students attended a presentation at Sterling High School sponsored by the Sauk Valley Community College tech prep program. Jason Dorsey spoke to a capacity audience about taking responsibility for one's actions. His message was well received. No matter where you come from, you can immediately influence where you are going.
