Sharon Boyles has a son in the Morrison Junior High and decided she wanted to help the Morrison Music Boosters. She also had a bag of cloth scraps from years of sewing to use up. So she combined the two to make a quilt and donated it to the Boosters for a raffle. After making the beautiful quilt top, she added the batting and had a cousin quilt the top for her. The pattern is one she made up, so this is a “one of a kind” quilt. The quilt measures 102” x 102” and has many colors to match almost any room. Never having taken a quilting class, Sharon enjoys sewing and is self-taught.
Second prize is a quilted throw her cousin donated. The throw has pine trees and is green and burgundy. Sharon also approached Connie Barr of Constantly Stitching for a third place item. Connie donated a quilted tabletop piece.
Tickets will be on sale at Paint the Town, all school concerts, and local businesses. They are 1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. The winning tickets will be chosen December 13, the second night of the Madrigal Dinner. You don’t have to be present to win. “There are 200 families in music boosters, and if each family bought 5 tickets we would be done,” according to Boyles. Everything was donated so all money raised goes to the Boosters.
