Sesquicentennial Committee Looking for Local Artists |
|
| The Sesquicentennial Committee will meet Wednesday, July 23 at 7:00 P.M. in their new headquarters: Suite 150 of TheCity1.com Building, 203 East Main Street. The committee urges you to attend if you are interested in designing a logo and themed motto for the 150th. anniversary of Morrison in 2005. Students entering grades 9 through 12 and adults are eligible to enter the contest. There is no fee to submit an entry. A selected logo and motto may be incorporated into stationery and new Main Street banners. These need to be simple in design/wording. Logos should use two colors only. It is difficult to translate complex designs/text to the small banners. The winning artwork and motto will likely decorate a range of assorted memorabilia that accompanies an important community celebration: publicity material, clothing, hats, plates and mugs, or a commemorative coin. Pick up an application form at the meeting July 23, or contact the Sesquicentennial Committee at Suite 150, beginning July 21. We are looking forward to your creative endeavors. by Stephanie A.
