Morrison Rockwood Restaurant to host over 150 bike riders.

Recently, I went and interviewed Mary Norton, co-owner of the Rockwood Restaurant with her husband Chuck, about their little restaurant nestled near Lake Carlton in Rockwood State Park. They have been the owners of the restaurant for three years now and have recently renovated their facilities, making it completely handicapped-accessible, adding on new bathrooms, a bigger porch, and an addition the kitchen.

When I asked about how they were handling the 150+ bikers coming to the park, they said that they were very excited about it and would be very busy, serving them Mostacholli and Italian Beef for dinner and then a breakfast at the restaurant.

The “Morrison Rockwood Restaurant” is more than just a restaurant though. The restaurant in the park comes complete with a bait shop, which has about everything that you could need, and a full line of boats available to rent starting at just $6.00 an hour. The bait shop also offers firewood and ice delivery to campsites, bike and tandem rentals, and a large variety of fresh, live bait. The Restaurant itself serves breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. daily, and serves a wide variety of food until seven at night. They have many specials every weekend, including Italian beef and barbecue ribs. The biggest seller for the restaurant is their wide variety of Sisler’s ice cream and homemade desserts, including pies, cakes, and cobblers.

The Morrison Rockwood Restaurant is open from May 1 until September 30th 7 days a week. They can cater any party, and often host many club meetings. If you are interested in their specials, or would like more information, you can contact them at 815-772-3613.
