Morrison Sesquicentennial Has a Home

Morrison Sesquicentennial is the legal name for the committee that will organize the 150th. anniversary of Morrison's establishment. Attorney William Shirk has begun the paperwork necessary to establish a not-for-profit corporation for this committee. Hint: that means you can donate money to this project!

Although the 2005 anniversary is 2 years off, much needs to be established now. We will hold a LOGO CONTEST soon. The chosen design will be printed on stationery, Main Street banners, and assorted memorabilia that will be for sale. Entrants must be ninth graders to adults; a registration form will be available with details. However, it is not too soon to start brainstorming and sketching.

We have three Board Members you may contact with your suggestions or an offer to help: Bob Vaughn (772-8718), Stephanie Vavra (772-3144), or Roy Velde (772-8258.) You do not need a last name that begins with V to become involved!

Mail your suggestions to our new office: Morrison Sesquicentennial, 230 East Main Street, Suite 150, Morrison, IL 61270. This is informally called thecity1 building, located east of Community State Bank.
