For the last decade, Morrison, IL, professional photographer Steven A. Siefken, left, has found miniature versions of his art in area homes and businesses. He compiles a dozen compelling color photographs into an annual calendar. The majority of photos are taken in the area, and each calendar has a theme. In his hands is the eleventh collection, which features “Weekend Travels.” His calendars make attractive, useful gifts–especially for family or friends who have moved away. This one also has the power to send Morrison Boy Scouts to camps next summer.
Seifken wanted to assist all members of Morrison Boy Scout Troop #96 in fulfilling their desire to attend summer camps. For every calendar each boy sells, Seifken will donate $2.
Austin Adams, right, is advancing toward the elite award of Eagle Scout. Adams is currently ranked at the STAR level of Boy Scouting, only two steps away from the coveted Eagle Scout ranking. A second goal is his desire to become the first Morrison Boy Scout to attend the Boy Scout National Jamboree, which is offered every four years. He will join tens of thousands of other Boy Scouts, from Wednesday, July 19, through Friday, July 28, 2017. Selling Siefken’s calendars will help him achieve it.
First Class Scout John Taylor also plans to attend the National Jamboree.
Do you need a one-size-fits-all, stocking stuffer as a Christmas present? “Weekend Travels” will fulfill your need and send a boy on a trip of a lifetime.
