Shirley B. Tegeler, 75, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, July 18, 2022, at her home.
Shirley was born February 3, 1947, in Geneseo, IL to Virgil W. and Ruth F. (Blackert) Newlon. She attended Hooppole, IL, grade schools and was a 1965 graduate of Annawan, IL, High School. She attended Secretarial school in Chicago, IL. On April 6, 1968, she married Arlyn C. Tegeler in Hooppole. Shirley first worked for the Chicago Board of Trade, then as a Secretary for the steel mill and Tegeler Equipment, until becoming a full-time mother and homemaker. She was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church and served on their board. She also served on the Auxiliary Board at Resthave Care & Rehabilitation in Morrison. Shirley liked to entertain friends and family in her home, and she enjoyed traveling. She had gone on a number of overseas trips. Shirley also loved visiting her daughters and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Arlyn; daughters, Nicole (Carol Hudgins) Tegeler of Tampa, FL; Tori (Jeremy) Brandow of Champaign, IL, and Libby Tegeler of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Jacob and Jaden Tegeler-Hudgins and Oliver and Miles Brandow; sister, Gloria (Richard) Morris of Arlington Heights, IL; brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Newlon of Sterling, IL, and Richard (Dottie) Newlon of Atlanta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father- and mother-in-law, Clarence and Dorothy Tegeler.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, officiated by Rev. Peter Kicheon Ahn, Pastor of Fenton United Methodist Church.
A luncheon was held at Fenton United Methodist Church after the memorial service.
There was a memorial Visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.
A memorial will be established by the family.
