Shirley Mae Hill, 80, of Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, IA.
Shirley was born June 22, 1938, in Centralia, IL, to John J. and Daisy (Howard) Hiltibidal. She was a graduate of Centralia High School in Centralia. Shirley married Paul H. Hill in 1958. She was employed by Dr. W. W. Robinson in Morrison. Shirley was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison and the church’s Bible Study Group. She enjoyed baking, bird watching, and sewing and was known as an excellent seamstress. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Marla (Don) Bolden of Fresno, CA; two sons, Mark (Carol) Hill of Morrison and Michael Hill; nine grandchildren, Donovan, Jasmine, and Chance Bolden; Mathew, Marcus (Kristina), and Jamie Hill, Jennifer (Brian) Suarez; Niccal Hill and DeRon Hill; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandy (Phillip) Venezia of Mt. Vernon, IL; two brothers, Gerald “Jerry” (Nancy) Hiltibidal of LeRoy, IL, and James Rodney (Joyce) Hiltibidal of Oceana, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary McGonigle; one brother in infancy.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Morrison, IL, preceded by visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
A graveside committal service and interment will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018, at the Old Covenanter Cemetery in Walnut Hill, IL.
Memorials have been established to Christ Lutheran School in Sterling, IL, and Happy Tails Animal Shelter in Rock Falls, IL.
