Shirley Ann Van Buren, 80, of Morrison, IL, died Friday August 9, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Dixon, IL.
Shirley was born March 23, 1939, in Wyoming, IL, to Tracy Frazier and Lauretta Pauline (Norman) Porter. She was educated in the Wyoming grade schools and was a graduate of Wyoming High School. On June 1, 1958, she married William W. “Bill” Van Buren, Jr. in Muscatine, IA. He died on January 22, 2013. Ann had been employed at various places in Morrison. She was a homemaker and loved working around her home, gardening, cooking, and baking. Ann enjoyed going to flea markets and collecting various items, to display in her Victorian home that she and her husband restored. She loved to decorate for the holidays and also enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include daughter, Christina “Tina” (Jon Grigsby) Schrader of Dixon; son, William W. “Bill” (Michele) Van Buren III of Morrison; five grandchildren, Allyson (Joel) Krehbiel, Erika (finance Colton Woolsey) Van Buren, Autumn Van Buren, Andy (Natalee) Schrader, and Jeremy Schrader; three great-grandchildren, Tucker Schrader, Maddox Campbell, and Maria Krehbiel; brother, Perry Porter of Wyoming, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; three brothers, Tracy, Bo, and Cecil Porter.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 16, 2019, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, officiated by Rich Criss, Ministry Coordinator at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL.
A visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established by the family.
