Shirlene I. Yamnitz, 84, of Fountain Inn, SC, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Friday, January 24, 2014, at Fountain Inn Nursing Home in Fountain Inn.
Shirlene was born February 10, 1929, in Morrison, to John and Ida (Wagenecht) Bierman. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools and was a graduate of Morrison High School in Morrison. She married Warren C. Cox on March 20, 1949, in Morrison. He died June 20, 1955. She then married Donald H. Yamnitz on April 6, 1958, in Chadwick, IL. He died May 25, 1989. Shirlene was employed the majority of her life in the banking industry. She worked for banks in DeKalb, IL, and Sarasota, FL. She was a member of the Oneco United Methodist Church in Oneco, FL. Shirlene enjoyed reading.
Survivors include one niece, Carol (Dave) Fosdick of Savanna, IL; one nephew, Arlyn L. (Trenna) Larson of Fountain Head, SC; one grandniece, Dawn (Don) Coryell; one grandnephew, D.J. Schroth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Warren C. Cox; second husband, Donald H. Yamnitz; one daughter, Sandra Yamnitz; one son, Barry Cox; two sisters, Marian J. Larson and Evelyn Maxfield; two brothers-in-law, Maurice Larson and Jonny Maxfield; one niece, Jan M. Schroth.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Rev. Ryan Sutton, Pastor, Morrison United Methodist Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
