On Monday, March 28, 2022, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office received payment for reimbursement, for expenses related to the housing of individuals in custody, pending transfer to the Illinois Department of Correction. The Sheriff’s Office expenses were related to 2998 days, in which prisoners were unable to be transported to the Illinois Department of Corrections.
The pay rate for the reimbursement was $35 a day. The amount of the reimbursement check was $104,930.
Sheriff John F. Booker commented, “I am very happy to receive some type of reimbursement for the County, for expenses we [incurred] while housing these inmates.”
