The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association is extremely proud to once again be named as a principal sponsor for the annual Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute (CGTI) on Substance Abuse (formerly Illinois Teen Institute.)  The ISA will award scholarships to cover the cost for students to attend this exceptional, award winning program.  Participants will be furnished tuition, lodging, a t-shirt, workshop materials, recreation, and meals.  Transportation will not be included.

CGTI is a week-long youth leadership training for middle- and high-school students, who want to learn leadership skills, meet other youth from around the State, and become empowered to create change in their schools and communities!  With a focus on personal responsibility, decision-making, and leading to change–this conference is for future leaders who want to make a real difference in their community.

CGTI teens will learn to

  • develop skills to be an advocate for positive change
  • make a difference in their community
  • communicate more effectively
  • prevent drug and alcohol abuse.

This years’ conference will be held at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL, from Sunday, July 17, through Thursday, July 21, 2016.

The ISA will award 60 scholarships Statewide.  Scholarships are filled quickly.   Interested applicants can visit www.ilsheriff.org and click on the CGTI link.  Fill out an application online or pick up one at the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, 400 N. Cherry Street, Morrison, IL.
