These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On 5-24-18 at 11:43 p.m., Courtney L. Nielsen, age 18 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped on Martin Road near Cardinal for defective exhaust.  She was cited for No Valid Driver’s License with a written warning for the defective exhaust and released with a mandatory court date.

On 5-29-18 at 6:22 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in rural Sterling, IL.  Upon further investigation, Andrew S. Connelly, age 25 of Morrison, IL, was arrested for an active Whiteside County Failure to Appear Warrant for Possession of Cannabis.  Connelly was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where he was processed and held in lieu of bond.  Slim-N-Hank’s assisted on scene.

On 6-2-18 at 10:05 a.m.,  Whiteside County Deputies arrested Douglas M. Strehlow, age 44 of Sterling, IL, for an outstanding Whiteside County Warrant for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Involving a Death-Fatal Crash.  Once in custody, Strehlow was unable to post his $500,000 bond and was held at the Whiteside County Jail.  Whiteside County Deputies were assisted by the Sterling Police Department and the Illinois State Police on scene.  Note:  This charge is the culmination of an extensive investigation from the August 19, 2017, fatality crash north of Sterling  where Summer D. Harmon was killed after Strehlow’s vehicle crossed the centerline on IL Route 40 north of Fulfs Road.

On 6-03-18 at 4:10 p.m., Breanna J. DeGroot, age 31 of Rock Falls,IL, was arrested following a traffic stop on Mathew Road near Blue Goose Road.  She was charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis >10 grams and released with a Notice to Appear.
