These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

12-11-18 at 5:10 a.m.  Deputies stopped a reported reckless driver traveling eastbound on U. S. Route 30 east of Morrison, IL.  Erna J. Gragert, age 55 of Sterling, IL, was cited for Improper Lane Usage and No Valid Driver’s License (expired.)  She was released on bond pending a future court date in Morrison.

12-14-18 at 7:36 p.m.  Whiteside County Deputies arrested Linda J. Carnes, age 59 of Sterling, IL, on a Lee County Warrant for Failure to Appear on the charge of Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Carnes was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.

12-15-18 at 12:48 a.m.  Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Riverdale Road near the Prophet Road intersection.  During the investigation of the stop, Eric A. Smith, age 39 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, along with an active warrant out of Stephenson County for Retail Theft.  The passenger in the vehicle, Marie A. Whitten, age 31 of Rock Falls, IL, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Possession of Hypodermic Needle and Syringes.  Both Smith and Whitten were transported and held at the Whiteside County Jail.  Assisting on scene was Rock Falls Police and Sauk Valley Towing.

12-15-18 at 1:34 a.m.  On Prophet Road at Riverdale Road intersection, Whiteside County Deputies arrested a 16-year-old minor from Tampico, IL, for Curfew Violation. The minor was transported to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and later released to his parent.

12-16-18 at 2:41 a.m.  While investigating a suspicious vehicle on Bottom Road in rural Rock Falls, IL, Whiteside County Deputies arrested Shelby S. Stingley, age 19, of Rock Falls for Possession of Alcohol as a Minor.  Stingley was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, where she was processed and released on a Notice to Appear.

12-16-18 at 5:00 a.m.  A Whiteside County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 near the Bishop Road intersection.  During the investigation of the stop, Stephanie L. Brown, age 35 of Sterling, IL, was arrested for an active Whiteside County Warrant for Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle.  Brown was transport to the Whiteside County Jail, where she posted bond and was released.  Assisting on scene was Hunter Towing out of Morrison, IL.

12-16-18  Following the investigation to an animal neglect/cruelty case, stemming from a report to the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office on December 2, 2018, on Mellotts Road in rural Sterling, IL, Joseph E. Cook, age 45 of Morrison, IL, was cited for two counts of Animal Cruelty and two counts of Animal Neglect.  Cook has a January 28, 2019, court date in Morrison.  Sheriff’s Deputies worked in conjunction with Whiteside County Animal Control, Illinois Humane Investigator, and Happy Tails Humane Society.
