Sheriff’s Office Recovers Body May 18

On Tuesday, May 18, Prophetstown Police responded to a report of an accident, involving a male subject mowing along the Rock River bank in Prophetstown, IL….The lawn mower was recovered from the river.  A water search began for the missing male.

On the same day, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and Prophetstown Police Department were saddened to announce the body of Arlyn K. Bush, 79-years-old, of Prophetstown, had been recovered, at approximately 4:00 p.m.  Bush was found in the Rock River.  Click here to read his Obituary.

Sheriff John Booker would like to say, “Thank you, to all the agencies who assisted with the search.  Please keep the Bush family in your thoughts and prayers,” he added.

The below listed agencies conducted the water search. 

Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office; Prophetstown Police; Prophetstown Fire; Erie Fire; Lyndon Fire; Prophetstown Ambulance; Rock Falls Fire Department; Illinois Department of Natural Resources; Yorktown Search and Rescue.  Quad Cities Search Dive Team conducted a water search.

The Whiteside County Coroner’s Office also assisted.
