Sheriff’s Office April 4 Accident Report

On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 9:55 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies responded to a car vs pedestrian traffic crash with injuries, on Stevens Street near E. Humphreys Avenue, in rural Rock Falls, IL  The driver of the vehicle, Donald L. Legel of Rock Falls, was attempting to leave a residence after having a verbal argument with Michael R. Marschang of Lyndon, IL.  When Legel entered his vehicle and began to leave, Marschang started running beside the vehicle, yelling for Legel to stop.  Marschang jumped in front of the vehicle, and the vehicle collided with him.  Legel continued on, leaving the scene.  Marschang was transported to CGH Medical Center for further treatment.  Legel was cited for Failure to Give Information/Render Aid, with a Morrison, IL, court date of Monday, May 24, at 9:00 a.m.  Deputies were assisted on scene by Rock Falls Fire Department and CGH EMS.
