Sharon Kay Deter, 54, of Morrison, IL, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at her home.
Sharon was born September 13, 1959, in Colorado Springs, CO, to Carroll and Jacqueline (Reynolds) Rasmussen. She attended the Clinton grade schools and graduated from Clinton High School in Clinton, IA. Sharon served in the U. S. Army. She married Russell D. Deter on August 30, 1991, in Sterling, IL. Sharon worked at Morrison Community Hospital for over ten years. She was a member and very active at Brethren in Christ Church in Morrison. She enjoyed baking pies and decorating cakes, especially for charities and events. She would also bake for the Whiteside County fair. Sharon enjoyed quilting, sewing, and following her children’s sporting events.
Survivors include her husband, Russ; three sons, Kendall, Bobby, and Adam Deter, all of Morrison; six sisters, Sheryl Tingley of Clinton; Shirley (Robert) Payne of Sterling, UT; Sandra Shamp of Clinton; Sharla Albrethsen of Salt Lake City, UT; Suzan (Paul) Adams of Farmington, UT; Sharleen (Joel) Wallace of Iowa City, IA; two brothers, Gary (Sue) Rasmussen of West Jordan, UT, and Bruce Rasmussen of Colorado Springs; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 1, 2014, at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Morrison, IL
OFFICIATING: Pastor Craig Sipes, Pastor at Brethren in Christ Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2014, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
