Sharon F. Appel, 78, of Morrison, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison.
Sharon was born July 4, 1945, to Jay and Grace Louise (Juist) Newendyke in Morrison. She was a graduate of Thomson High School in Thomson, IL. On November 19, 1965, she married LeRoy J. Appel in Morrison. Sharon dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker, finding joy in raising her children and supporting her husband on their farm. She was involved with various churches and was currently an active member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, where Sharon contributed to various church activities, including Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband, LeRoy; sons, Randy Appel of Thomson, IL, Brian (Christi) Appel of German Valley, IL, and Dale (Angela) Appel of Thomson; nine grandchildren, Leslie, Haley, and Justin Appel, Tommy and Samantha Appel, Megan (Alex) Haffey, Hunter, Logan, and Ethaniel Appel; two great-granddaughters, Rylan and Decklynn Haffey.
Preceding her in death were her parents; twin daughters, Margaret and Nancy, in infancy, brother, Ronald Newendyke.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2023, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with Ken Renkes officiating.
There will be no Visitation
Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL.
