These arrests are merely a charge, and he/she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The following 20 Arrests or Citations were issued in seven days, as part of the Labor Day weekend, by Whiteside County Deputies.
On 8/31/20 at 9:37 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop, near IL Route 40 and and Fulfs Road in rural Sterling, IL, for a vehicle traveling 82 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Upon further investigation, a 17-year-old juvenile Male of Sterling was arrested for Speeding 26-35 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit. The male juvenile was issued a Notice to Appear with a future court date and released on scene.
On 8-31-20 at 10:08 p.m., 17-year-old Prophetstown Male was stopped in Tampico, IL, for defective exhaust. He was cited for No Valid Driver’s License and Graduated License Curfew Violation and released to parents on scene, with mandatory court date of 10-05-20 in Morrison, IL.
On 9-1-20 at 8:21 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Woodlawn Road and Pinewood Drive in rural Sterling, IL, for a vehicle traveling 55 MPH in a 30 MPH zone. Upon further investigation, Aryah Phillips, age 20 of Sterling was arrested for Speeding 25 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Aryah was issued a Notice to Appear with a future court date and was released on scene.
On 9-1-20 at 8:52 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Star Road and Luther Road in rural Tampico, IL, for speeding. Upon further investigation, Jennifer Whittington, age 43 of Aurora, IL, was arrested for Driving with No Valid Driver’s License and issued a written warning for speeding. Jennifer was issued a Notice to Appear with a future court date and released on scene.
On 9-01-20 at 10:38 p.m., Akissha S. Tompkins, age 43 of Chicago, IL, was stopped on U. S. Route 30 east of Morrison, for an inoperative rear registration light. Tompkins was arrested for Inoperative Rear Registration Light, Failure to Secure Child Under 8 Years of Age, Driving While License Suspended, and Unlawful Use of Driver’s License Display or Represent as her own, and Driver’s License or Permit of another. She was released on bond pending a mandatory court date. Passenger Roy G. Hinton, age 41 of Chicago, was cited for Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. He was released with an I-Bond, pending court in Morrison as well.
On 9-02-20 at 4:16 a.m., Jakob A. McFadden, age 19 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped for speeding on U. S. Route 30 at Matznick Road, Sterling, IL. McFadden was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (84/55 MPH) and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was issued a Promise to Comply.
On 9-4-20 at 8:14 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Walnut Road and Como Road in rural Sterling, IL, for a motorcycle with no registration. Upon further investigation, Drew Christianson, age 29 of Sterling, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Drew was issued a Notice to Appear with a future court date and released on scene.
On 9-04-20 at 8:30 p.m., Savon A. Gonzalez, age 21 of Hoffman Estates, IL, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 near mile marker 34. Gonzalez was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (99/70 MPH) and released with a Promise to Comply.
On 9-04-20 at 10:30 p.m., Amber M. Zink, age 32 of Sterling, IL, was stopped on U. S. Route 30 east of Morrison, IL, for speeding. She was cited for Speeding 72/55 MPH and Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. She was released with a Promise to Comply. Morrison Police assisted on scene.
On 9-4-20 at 11:19 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Market Street and Main Street in Tampico, IL, for failure to use a turn signal. Upon further investigation, Alyssa Ferguson, age 19 of Tampico was arrested for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and issued a written warning for no turn signal. Alyssa was issued a Notice to Appear with a future court date and released on scene.
On 9-5-2020 at 12:25 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 near Fulfs Road for a speeding violation. The driver, Kyle S. Smith, age 20 of Fulton, was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Smith was released from the traffic stop with a Notice to Appear.
On 9-05-20 at 1:42 a.m., Kenneth E. Vandrew, age 63 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped in Sterling, IL, by Deputies, for an equipment violation and cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Driving While License Suspended, and No Rear Registration Light. He was released with an I-bond pending court in Morrison, IL. Sterling Police and Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on scene.
On 9-05-20 at 7:40 p.m., Carlos A. Cabera, age 56 of Woodstock, IL, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at mile marker 37. He was cited for Speeding 84/70 MPH and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. He was issued mandatory court date.
On 9-05-20 at 8:06 p.m., a 17-year-old Male from Wheaton, IL, was cited for Speeding 35 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (105/70 MPH), following a traffic stop on Interstate 88 at mile marker 36. Slim-n-Hank’s Towing assisted on the scene. The male was released pending a court date on 10-05-20 in Morrison, IL.
On 9-5-2020 at 8:27 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on IL Rt. 84 near 10th Avenue, in Fulton, IL, for a speeding violation. The driver, Carlos M. Garcia, age 41 of Colorado Springs, CO, was arrested for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and issued a citation for speeding. Garcia was released with a Notice to Appear.
On 9-05-20 at 11:30 p.m., Jennifer M. Duncan, age 38 of Milledgeville, IL, was stopped for speeding on IL Route 40 north of Sterling, IL. She was cited for Speeding 65/55 MPH and Unlawful Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Sterling Police assisted on scene.
On 9-6-2020 at 12:20 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on U. S. Route 30 near Millard Road, for a lane violation and obstructed registration. The driver, Anthony W. Croce, age 35 of Dixon, IL, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Croce was issued citations for Improper Lane Usage and Obstructed Registration. He was released from the Whiteside County Jail after processing, with a Notice to Appear.
On 9-06-20 at 1:37 a.m., Pascual D. Garcia III, age 24 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped in Rock Falls for numerous violations. Garcia was cited for Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and No Valid Registration. Slim-n-Hank’s assisted on scene.
On 9-06-20 at 6:45 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies, Erie Police, Erie Fire Protection District, and Medforce responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries, on Albany Road near Burns Road, rural Erie, IL. A vehicle driven by Nathan D. Bearsley, age 35 of Erie, was traveling essentially southbound on Albany Road when he crossed the center line into the path of a vehicle driven by Joyce M. Kaecker, age 76, also of Erie. Sadly, Joyce did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead on scene by Whiteside County Coroner Joe McDonald. Nathan was flown by Medforce to the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, IA, for treatment of his injuries. He was also cited for Improper Lane Usage. The crash remains under investigation by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were assisted on scene by Erie Police, Illinois State Police, Prophetstown Police, Erie Fire, Erie EMS, Medforce, Albany Fire, Albany EMS, and Todd’s Towing.
