On 9/14/20 at 3:16 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 88 near milepost 40 for speeding. The driver, Jonathan W. Straughter, age 28, of Galesburg, IL, was issued citations for Speeding 84 MPH in a 70 MPH zone and Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Paul Stingley, a passenger in Straughter’s vehicle, age 28, of Galesburg, was issued a citation for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle. Both subjects were released from the scene with a Notice To Appear.
On 9/18/2020 at 4:03 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 88 near Milepost 36 for a “Scott’s Law Violation” Failure to Yield to a Stationary Emergency Vehicle. The driver, Robert W. Boncosky, age 40, of Crystal Lake, IL, was issued a citation for the violation and released from the scene with a Promise to Comply to a mandatory court date.
On 9/19/2020 at 2:38 a.m., Kayla M. Morgan Poff, age 29 of Rock Falls, IL, was stopped for registration violations in Sterling, IL. Kayla was cited for Possession of Adult Use Cannabis in a Motor Vehicle and released on bond. Sterling Police assisted on scene.
On 9/19/2020 at 9:21 a.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 30 at Fulfs Road for speeding. The driver, Derian S. Fisher, age 25, of Gary, IN, was issued citations for speeding 69 MPH in a 55 MPH zone and No Valid Driver’s License.
On 9/192020 at 10:48 a.m., Grace E. Zigler, age 21 of Sterling, IL, was stopped on Fulfs Road north of Sterling for speeding. She was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (85/55 MPH) and released on bond.
On 9/9/2020 at 12:48 p.m., Tennille L. Davis, age 43 of Davenport, IA, was stopped for speeding on Interstate 88 at milepost 40. She was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (99/70 MPH) and released on bond.
On 9/192020 at 2:38 p.m., Desiree J. Krenz, age 23 of Sycamore, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 at milepost 40 for speeding. She was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (99/70 MPH) and released on bond.
On 9/20/2020 at 2:00 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at milepost 20 on Interstate 88 for speeding 99 MPH in the 70 MPH zone. The driver, Conner W. Adams, age 18, of Lincoln, IL, was issued a citation for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit and released on bond, with a Promise to Comply.
On 9/20/20 at 2:24 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies observed a vehicle traveling at 101 MPH on Interstate 88 near milepost 18. A Deputy caught up to the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near milepost 12. The driver, Matthew K. Jackson, age 32, of Moline, IL. was issued citations for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit, Driving While License Suspended, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Jackson was released from the scene with a Notice to Appear. Whiteside County Deputies were assisted on scene by Slim-n-Hank’s Towing.
On 9/20/20 at 3:33 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies were dispatched to IL Route 84 near Great River Road Antiques for a two-vehicle accident with injuries. Through the crash investigation, it was determined Weston A. Walston, age 31, of Chadwick, IL, was traveling southbound on IL Route 84, when he failed to see a vehicle waiting to turn into Great River Antiques. The other vehicle was driven by Darrell G. Hubbard, age 90 of Maquon, IL, along with passenger Carol J. Morse, age 76 of Delong, IL. All occupants were treated at the scene by EMS and refused transport to a medical facility by ambulance. Walston was cited for Failed to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and released from the scene with a Promise to Comply. Whiteside County Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Fulton Police Department, Thomson Fire and EMS, Fulton EMS, and Midwest Collision.
On 9/20/2020 at 3:50 p.m., Willis W. Yurs, Jr., age 21 of Malta, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 at mile post 31 for speeding. He was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (99/70 MPH) and released on bond.
On 9/20/2020 at 3:50 p.m., Desiree L. Saddoris, age 23 of Rock Island, IL, was stopped on Interstate 88 at mile post 31 for speeding. She was cited for Speeding 26 to 34 MPH Over the Posted Speed Limit (99/70 MPH) and released on bond.
On 9/202020 at 5:15 p.m., Whiteside County Deputies, Rock Falls Police, Rock Falls Fire Department, and CGH EMS responded to a single-vehicle crash with injury on McNeil Road, Rock Falls, IL. Matthew B. Thomas, age 24 of Sterling, IL, was traveling southbound on McNeil Road, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Thomas was transported to CGH Medical Center for treatment and/or observation. Charges are pending. Williams’ Towing assisted on scene, too.
