Morrison Music Theater Association (MMTA) is pleased to announce auditions for its future production, “A Christmas Carol,” produced as an on-air radio broadcast, set in the 1940s. Charles Dickens’s novella was published December 19, 1843.
Audiences will find the format similar to MMTA’s 2019 Christmas radio play, “It’s a Wonderful Life.” There is no memorization of the script, because studio actors read their lines at the microphone.
This year’s play requires “a dozen or so teens and adults to cover the 33 voices,” stated Eric Phend.
Auditions will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 301 W. South Street, Morrison, IL.
Morrison Institute of Technology auditorium, 701 Portland Avenue, Morrison, IL, is tentatively set for Friday, December 4, and, possibly, Saturday, December 5, productions.
