Dear Editor:
What an amazing evening it was for Hospice of the Rock River Valley at the Tapas & Tinis Hospice House Fundraiser! The fundraiser was a new concept incorporating community members as chefs. They made a variety of appetizers for the guests to enjoy, along with specialty martini drinks created by the Brandywine staff, at 441 IL Route 2, Dixon, IL. Guests were encouraged to support their favorite chef or appetizer by voting with cash donations.
All proceeds benefit the Hospice Home campaign.
Thank you to the staff at the Brandywine, who embraced this new idea and made everything work seamlessly for the chefs and guests. Thanks, also, to CGH Medical Center, 100 E. LeFevre Road, Sterling, IL, for sponsoring the event.
We also thank our Community “Celebrity” Chefs–along with their spouses or Sous Chefs–who graciously donated their time, talent, and food for everyone to taste and enjoy. Thank you to
- Brian Wahl
- Kristie and Marc Geil
- Ed Andersen
- Adin Taylor
- Kurt Downs
- Dr. Jason Reter
- Briana Hoban
- Kelly Keaschall and Dave Jakobs
- Terry McGuire.
We thank everyone who attended, made a cash donation or pledge that evening, and for recognized, with us, the need in our communities for a Hospice Home. Your generosity means so much to us and will mean even more to those who will benefit from the compassionate care in our Hospice Home.
Sincerely,
Karen Voss, Marketing Director, and Carolyn Spencer, Executive Director
