On Saturday, February 1, 2014, 21 Seahorses traveled to Byron, IL, High School to compete in the Winter Stateline Conference Meet. The Stateline Conference is made up of the following five teams: Morrison Seahorses, Sterling Stingrays, Freeport Aquatic Swim Team, Byron Tiger Sharks, and the Rockford Marlins. The Seahorses had a great meet with 30 top-six finishes and 30 lifetime best swims.
Highlights from the meet include:
- Emma Allison swimming the 25 backstroke with no flotation devices or swimming aids
- Skylar Drolema swimming a regional time in the 50 breaststroke
- four Conference wins: Kate Henson in the 50 backstroke, Emily Henson in the 50 butterfly, and Landri Harmon, shown at left, in the 25 breaststroke and 25 backstroke.
Way to go Seahorses! The Seahorses’ next meet is Friday, February 14, through Sunday, February 16, at the Kishwaukee YMCA in Sycamore, IL. The Seahorse results follow.
