Monday’s Morrison, IL, City Clerk Melanie Schroeder was recognized at the City Council meeting, on Monday, February 11, 2019, for her recent completion of education that designates her as a Master Municipal Clerk (MMC.)
Joining over 1300 MMC’s worldwide, Schroeder has been pursuing the advanced recognition for over ten years. The MMC program is an Advanced Continuing Education program that prepares participants to perform complex municipal duties. The program has
- an extensive and rigorous educational component
- a professional contribution component.
The MMC applicant must demonstrate that he/she has actively pursued education and professional activities. International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) requires 60 Advanced Education points and 40 Professional Contribution points, to fulfill the MMC point requirements.
The MMC program was initially created as the “Academy for Advanced Education” in 1980 and has evolved into the Master Municipal Clerk program.
