Morrison High School Scholastic Bowl Coach Brian Bartoz commented on his team’s efforts, at the close of their season. “I’m proud of our team’s 45-20 overall record this season. Team members worked hard to develop their skills in multiple subject areas. Captain Nara Hardesty led the team capably throughout the season[….This] helped our team win our Regional on Monday, March 4, 2024, in order to advance to the Sectional on Saturday, March 9.”
The team did not advance to the State competition.

“I hope to recruit additional players from the eighth-grade class at Morrison Junior High in the coming weeks and months[….This will…] bolster our program’s ranks of players for future years.”
The team’s sponsor, Morrison Masonic Lodge, will host a banquet soon.
Bartoz thanked the adults and teens who read questions, kept score, and assisted the competition leading to the Regional win at Morrison High School, on March 4.
Sam Ripley served as Moderator, in Bartoz’s classroom, while Dan Sitzmore worked as the Scorekeeper.
Carolyn Aiken read questions in the library. Her assistant for rounds 2 and 3 was Ryan (R. J.) Tillman, a MHS alumna and recent Western Illinois University graduate.
In Round 1, R. J. Tillman served as Moderator in Room 107.
“I’d also like to recognize MHS Seniors Peyton Emerson and Carly Boonstra for their work as Scorekeepers during the event.”
