Whiteside County citizens are invited to meet Kristopher Schmidt, a Republican candidate for Sheriff, during a “Meet and Greet” event on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Citizens for Schmidt, the candidate’s campaign committee, will host the event from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Fulton Masonic Lodge, 208 N. 10th Street, Fulton, IL.
The committee has planned a series of events to allow voters to meet the candidate and hear his views on issues facing the Whiteside County and the Sheriff’s office.
“I urge all Whiteside County residents to attend one or more of my events, so they will be informed when they go to the voting polls,” Schmidt said.

Whiteside County’s Primary Election is set for March 20, 2018. The General Election is scheduled for November 6, 2018.
ABOUT KRIS SCHMIDT
Kris graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1990 and joined the Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1995. He worked for the DeWitt (Iowa) Police Department, beginning as a patrolman and was quickly promoted to Sergeant in charge of patrol. In 2001, he joined the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, where he was assigned to patrol and was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2009. While working at the Sheriff’s Office, he has had many accomplishments, including earning his bachelor of arts business degree in organization management, with distinction, and a minor in criminal justice and receiving many awards for his dedicated service to Whiteside County.
He and his wife, Sarah, and have a blended family of six children and live on a small farm just outside of Morrison.
