Citizens for Schmidt, the committee promoting Kristopher Schmidt as a Republican candidate for Sheriff of Whiteside County, will host several events in the next couple of weeks. Whiteside County’s Primary Election is set for March 20, 2018. The General Election is scheduled for November 6, 2018.
The public is invited to “Meet the Candidate–Dinner with Kris” on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Family Chef Restaurant, 701 W. Lincoln Way, Morrison, IL. A chicken dinner will be served for $10 per adult; children under 12 eat free. Beverages, tax, and gratuity are additional.
On Saturday, September 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be a free Neighborhood Block Party at King Pins, 18675 13th Street, Fulton, IL, featuring food, a kids’ bounce house with slide, and a 50/50 raffle.
Schmidt will host another “Meet and Greet” event at the Fulton Masonic Lodge, 208 N. 10th Street, on Thursday, September 7, from 9:00 ro 11:00 a.m.

About Kris Schmidt
Kris graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1990 and joined the Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1995. He worked for the DeWitt [, IA,] Police Department, beginning as a Patrolman, and was quickly promoted to Sergeant in charge of patrol. In 2001, he joined the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, where he was assigned to patrol and was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2009. While working at the Sheriff’s Office, he has had many accomplishments, including earning his Bachelor of Arts Business degree in Organization Management, with distinction, and a minor in Criminal Justice. Sergeant Schmidt has receiving many awards for his dedicated service to Whiteside County.
He and his wife, Sarah, and have a blended family of six children and live on a small farm just outside of Morrison.
