Vintage Radio station WQUD, 105.5 FM, in Erie, IL, had a very successful second year, sending 144 individual boxes to a total of five different overseas military addresses. 2016 was the first year the gifting was attempted. Large boxes contained gifts for multiple people, which were difficult to manage and very expensive to ship.
“I am heading up the project for next year. Below is a list of suggested items that can be saved during the next year. After-Christmas sales would be a good time to gather military gifts.”
Many people claimed they did not know WQUD was sending gifts overseas. We hope to start packing at an earlier date next year.
Cash donations are also accepted.
“I am making a list of people who wish to participate in the overseas military gifting for 2018. Will you and your family help? Please call 309-659-2628 or 815-441-7128. Leave your name and a means of contact.”
Thank you,
