Everyone is welcome to enjoy being outside and to show their support of the Savanna Historical Society, 406 Main Street, Savanna, IL, on Sunday, July 19, 2020. The organization will host a “Car Cruise-In,” from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Car enthusiasts are encouraged to participate; there is no registration fee. Donations will be gratefully accepted and used to continue renovations and programming at the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center.
Cars may be parked in blocked off areas of the 400 block of Main Street or in the 300 block behind Main Street.
Among those planning to attend are
- Ron Nemec, with his 1984 Corvette
- Don Nowviock, with his 1931 Model A
- Andy MiIls, with his 2005 Ford GT
- Howard Crull, Fieldon, IL, Nostalgia Super Stock drag racer, will display the Ferris Motors 1965 Torqueflite Tornado tribute car.
Savanna Home and Hardware graciously donated a $200 value, gas, Stihl Leaf Blower as a Silent Auction item. Everyone may offer a bid; sign up at the museum. The winner will take home the leaf blower after 3:00.
The SHS supports area businesses and hopes the public will enjoy this family activity. Of course, we encourage social distancing and wearing masks. We will have hand sanitizers available at a table in front of the museum. Your support is appreciated.
