Ruth A. Kath, 89, of Morrison, IL, formerly of Aurora, IL, died Friday, January 19, 2024, at her home in Morrison.
Ruth was born May 27, 1934, in Aurora, IL to John and Wanda (Elbe) Miller. She attended East Aurora High School. In May of 1960 Ruth married Martin Kath in Aurora. He died in July of 1991. For 34 years Ruth was employed as a Manager at F & M Graphics in Aurora. In her 89 years, Ruth witnessed many changes in the world. She eventually warmed up to technology and learned to play solitaire on the computer at work. More recently, Ruth became fond of her Amazon Alexa. She enjoyed outings–she would never turn down an opportunity to go out to eat–and the company of those who were so kind to her: her neighbors and restaurant owners who would bring by delicious foods for her to enjoy.
Survivors include one son, Randy (Kay Brandau Hood) Kath of Morrison; four grandchildren, Kyle Kath and Kiersten (John Smith) Kath, both of Stone Mountain, GA, Kaite (financé Sam) Kath of Davenport, IA, and Jordan Kath of Bettendorf, IA. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved companion pups, Jackson and Doughboy.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Marty; grandson, Chris Kath; siblings, Kate Miller, Harold Miller, Dorothy Raymer, Jack Miller, Bob Miller and Mike Miller.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be no Funeral or Visitation; a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
