Morrison Rotary generously purchased a new book for each student in Pre-K through Second grade. This endeavor is part of the organization’s long-standing Literacy Program.
Rotary enlisted the aid of the members of B.L.I.N.D., a character-building, social outreach group at Morrison High School, directed toward Freshmen. The acronym stands for Building Lasting Impressions that Never Die. Melissa Landis is the faculty advisor.
On Friday, December 15, 2017, 12 Junior and Senior B.L.I.N.D. leaders, along with about 20 freshmen, visited Northside School, 520 N. Genesee Street, Morrison, IL.
B.L.I.N.D. leaders each read a story to a classroom. They passed out books and candy canes to each student. The young children were very appreciative of the books and enjoyed their visit.
