Rosie M. Truitt, 87, of Savanna, IL, formerly of Roundup, MT, died Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL.
Rosie was born July 18, 1928, in Brookston, MN, to Frank R. and Martha I. (Welderman) Moorehead. She was educated in the Sterling Grade Schools in Sterling, IL. Rosie married Charles W. “Toby” Truitt in Morrison. She was employed by General Electric in Morrison for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Rosie was a member of the St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Roundup, and the Roundup Lions Club. She was a volunteer and bus driver for the Senior Citizens Center in Roundup and delivered meals for the Meals on Wheel program.
Survivors include one daughter, Denise Griffith of Clinton, IA; three sons, Jimmy (Joyce) Truitt of Pearl City, IL, Charles (Janie) Truitt of Morrison, and Jody Truitt of Cedar Rapids, IA; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy (Bob) Russell of California, Evelyn (Jack) Gaffy of Sterling, and Betty (John) Gilly of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Ray (Ruby) Moorehead of Washington and Bob (Bev) Moorehead of Sterling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Terry Lee Truitt; two sisters, Martha Calvert and Judy Truitt; two brothers, Richard Moorehead and Frank Moorehead.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
OFFICIATING: Rev. Father William Antillon, Pastor, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Morrison, IL
VISITATION: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2015, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
