Rose Hanson Warren, 92 of Sterling, IL, died Monday October 2, 2023, at her home.
She was born on January 22, 1931, in Muskegon, MI, the daughter of Louis and Amy (Dorrington) Grimard. She married Oliver Warren on April 17, 1976, in Sterling. Rose, being the matriarch of her family, loved her kids, grandkids, and the special visits from her great-grandkids. She will be remembered by her many talents from woodworking, mosaics, sewing, and her paintings, which she enjoyed up to her last days. For 15 years, she and her husband spent their winter months in Mission, TX. To this day, she would say those were the best days of her life.
Surviving is her husband, Oliver; daughters, Vicki (Gary) Velasquez of Sterling, Cheryl (Tom) Bertolozzi of Wauwatosa, WI, Amy (Phil) Rodriguez of Sterling, Theresa (Rich) Koch of Morrison, IL; son, Kevin (Ginger) Hanson of Galt, IL; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Hanson; grandchildren, Joseph Hanson and Kelsey Egan; four sisters; five brothers.
Visitation will be Saturday October 7, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Avenue, in Sterling, IL.
The Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will conclude at Calvary Cemetery, 2102 E. LeFevre Road at Freeport Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cause for Paws, Oregon, IL, or St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry, Sterling, IL.
