Ronald G. Huizenga, 78, of Morrison, IL, died Friday, March 24, 2017, at his home.
Ron was born June 20, 1938, to George T. and Sadie B. (Byland) Huizenga. He was a graduate of Morrison High School and served in the U. S. Army National Guard. Ron married Dorothy A. Fletchic. He was employed by General Electric in Morrison for many years, retiring in 1995. Ron was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison and served as an elder, deacon, Sunday School teacher, choir member, and sound system technician. He was an avid woodworker and constructed many items for the use of the church, family, and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Julie Cornwell of Dixon, IL; two sons, David (Sarah) Huizenga of Fulton, IL, and Andy (Lori) Huizenga of Suffolk, VA; eight grandchildren, Sam and Rachael Cornwell, Dawson, Sadie, and Gavin Huizenga, Evan Hill, Will and Liam Huizenga; one sister, Trudy (Joe) Hunt of Cherry Valley, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas Huizenga.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL
