Rock Falls Rotary 77th Annual Corn Boil

CindyPociKeithThe Rock Falls Community Building, 601 W. 10th Street, Rock Falls, IL, will be the site of the annual Rock Falls Rotary Corn Boil, on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Keith Zoeller, right, is Chair of this event.  Cindy Poci, co-owner with Jerry Poci of Poci’s Market, will supply the sweet corn.

Tickets are $8/adults and $4/children under 12.  Tickets may be purchased in advance from any Rock Falls Rotary Club member or at the door.

Menu includes Pulled Pork Bar-B-Q sandwich or hot dog, chips, beverage, and all the sweet corn you can eat.  Drive through service is also available.

Orders of ten or more meals may be pre-ordered for pick-up at a requested time.  Fax  the order to Zoeller at 815-625-3726 or email it to zoeller@essex1.com no later than Monday, July 18, by noon.  To place a pre-order, give name, phone number, number of meals of each sandwich choice, and the desired hour (between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.) for pick-up.  No pre-orders for pick-up will be taken the day of the event.

This is the 77th year that the Corn Boil has been an event for the Rock Falls Rotary Club.  The original Rock Falls Rotary Club Corn Boil was an activity for the club members and their families.  It expanded over the years into what has become the major fundraising event for the club.  Wilson and Lorraine King were the original hosts of this event ,on their farm south of Rock Falls.  It has grown into a community event with over 1000 meals being served.

Proceeds fund Rock Falls Rotary youth and community programs.  The public is invited.
