Robert N. Wolf, age 93 of Sterling, IL, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Pine Crest Manor in Mt. Morris, IL.
Robert was born on January 2, 1922, in Sterling, the son of Merle and Perna Mary (Webb) Wolf. He is a United States Army Air Corp veteran, serving in World War II. Robert married Vina June Pollock on January 8, 1944, in Sterling; she preceded him in death on February 7, 2008. Robert was employed as a Principal and Superintendent of Sterling Schools for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a past member of Sauk Valley Community College Board of Trustees.
Surviving are his one daughter, Gerry Harrington of Sterling; one daughter-in-law, Sue Wolf of Sterling; four grandchildren, Pat Harrington of Maine, Tim Harrington of New Mexico, Ben Wolf of Morrison, IL, and Casey Winstead of Normal, IL; five great-grandchildren, Amber, Jake, and Emma Harrington, Brady Wolf, and Ivy Winstead.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Irvin Wolf and Dr. Jim Wolf; two sisters, Vivian McMurray and Marion LeFevre; his son Dr. B. J. Wolf.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 7, 2015, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue, in Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral service will follow at 10:30 with the Reverend Brandon Nelson, Pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL, officiating.
Burial with military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rock Falls VFW.
