Robert N. Buck, Sr. (1940 – 2025)

Robert N. Buck, Sr., 84, of Fulton, IL, died Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his home.

Robert was born May 4, 1940, in McIntosh, SD, to Basil and Virginia (Tystad) Buck.  He graduated from high school in Clark, SD, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1965.  On March 8, 1964, he married Marlene R. Van Kampen in Clinton, IA.  Robert dedicated over 20 years of his career to International Paper before retiring.  He was a member of Gateway Faith Fellowship Church.  Robert enjoyed golfing and bowling, but most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.  He was their number one fan, attending countless sporting events to cheer them on.  The special secret handshake Robert shared with all his grandchildren remains a beloved family tradition and a treasured memory.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene; daughter, Kay Lucas of Fulton; daughter-in-law, Christy (Darren Voss) Buck of Morrison, IL; six grandchildren, Nick (Monica) Lucas and Sarah Burnett, Kelsey (Riley) Baker, Molly Buck, Natalie Buck, and Jacob Buck; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandie Buck of Hampden, ME.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert N. Buck, Jr.; sisters, Marlene Vogelbacher, Barbara Wacker, and Carol Buck; brothers, Basil Buck, Jr. and Eugene Buck.

His Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with Pastor Wayne Wiersema, Pastor of Gateway Faith Fellowship in Fulton, officiating.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service.

Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton. IL.

A memorial has been established.
