Robert “Bob” Pannell, 87 of Thomson, IL, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at his home.
Bob was born on May 4, 1931, in Fulton,IL, the son of Edward and Katherine (Norman) Pannell. He married Dorothy Kustes on April 23, 1960, in Fulton. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2012. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for 59 years. Bob was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. He avidly enjoyed watching his kids’ activities through the years, loved hunting, fishing and trapping, and watching the Chicago Cubs. Bob was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara L. Lawrence of Fulton; two sons, Edward J. (Susan) Pannell and Richard J. (Jennifer) Pannell both of Fulton; his sister, Pauline Williams of Morrison, IL; 13 grandchildren, Heather A. Houzenga of Savanna, IL, Brent E. Houzenga of New Orleans, LA, Meghan E., Scott M., Mitchell E., and Brett C. Dienst all of Maple Park, IL, Whitney L. Pannell of Thomson, Morgan C., Hannah M., Jacob D., Eli H., Maxwell G., Zane R. Pannell, all of Fulton; six great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Lisa M. Dienst; ten brothers and sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1601 16th Avenue, in Fulton, IL.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton, IL, with Reverend Matthew Camioni, Celebrant, officiating.
A private ceremony will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Fulton, IL.
