Robert “Bob” A. White, 75, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of Erie, IL, died Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Hammond-Henry Long Term Care, Geneseo, IL.
Robert White was born April 29, 1938, in Calhoun County, Alabama, the son of Claude and Hortense White. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1956. Bob married Nancy Thrasher in 1959, Marsha Hunt in 1972, and Noreen Massingill in 1996. He worked as a supervisor for Case IH, retiring after 34 years of service.
Bob was a volunteer firefighter for many years, first with the Erie and later with the Atkinson Fire Departments. He was an avid sports fan; he loved the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his four children and spouses, Donna (Mark) Theriot, McHenry, IL, Adam White, Muscatine, IA, Allison (Mark) Demeulemeester, Port Byron, IL, Jamie (Jennifer) White, Morrison, IL; grandchildren, Eric Karst, Andrew Demeulemeester, Rachel White, Owen White, Evan White, Avery White, Zachary White; brothers, Perry (Sybil) White, James (Patricia) White, Raymond (Jacque) Andrews, and Jerry Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Adam White, Jr., step-sister and step brother-in-law, Frances “Lou” and Roy Surrett, and step-brother, M.T. “Buddy” Andrews.
Visitation: Monday, October 14, 2013, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, IL
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the Erie Christian Church, Erie, IL.
Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hammond–Henry Hospital for a memorial to be established in his name.
