The River Cities Quilt Guild will meet at Fulton Presbyterian Church, 311 N. Ninth Street, Fulton, IL, on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, with a short business meeting at 7:00 p.m. A show-and-tell demonstration by those present will follow. The program will be guest speaker Jane Kiser from Geneseo, IL. Her program will be a trunk show of some of her Creative Club projects related to quilting.
Kiser has been sewing since she was a little girl, having learned her love of sewing from her mother and grandmother. She is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors degree in Home Economics Education. She is a Martha Pullen Licensed Teacher in seven areas and has taught at some of the Licensing Seminars, as well as designed Licensing Projects. Kiser teaches a monthly Creative Club in three locations and has been doing so for over 20 years. At each club meeting, a new technique or product is shared or a technique is demonstrated in a new way. The technique is used in one or more projects.
Kiser also teaches hands-on classes for beginning and advanced adults and kids. Her students range in age from seven to 90 years old. She loves to teach and share her ideas and love of sewing, serging, quilting, and machine embroidery. She owns a Babylock Destiny and a Husqvarna Viking Designer Diamond sewing/embroidery machines, Babylock Ovation and Evolution sergers, and Viking 5D Professional software.
The River Cities Quilt Guild is a group of quilters who gather on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. In addition to trunk shows, other programs include demonstrations, guest speakers, and quilting games.
