River Bend Board President Dan Portz opened the Wednesday, September 21, 2022, Public Hearing, requesting public comments and/or questions on the proposed FY’23 budget. Hearing none, the meeting was adjourned.
The September Board of Education meeting followed the Public Hearing at River Bend High School, with Principals presenting updates on the respective school’s activities, challenges, and successes.
Superintend Daryl Hogue reported an enrollment increase of 21 students, compared to the same time period in 2021. He reminded the Board of the April 4, 2023, Election of Board members, when four members are up for re-election. Petitions for available Board seats may be circulated beginning Tuesday, September 20, and must be filed between December 12-19, at the County Clerk’s Office in Morrison, IL. Hogue noted that the proposed FY’23 Budget has been displayed for 30 days, and it was offered to the Board. An approval vote was taken and passed unanimously. The budget shows revenue of $12,236,559 and expenses of $12,473,085.27.
In Other Action:
A) An ISBE School Maintenance Project Grant application was approved, to be used for asbestos removal, heating/cooling units, and roofing updates
B) Approval of posting on the webpage the 2022-2023 projected Compensation Report and the Administration and Teacher Salary and Benefit Report
C) Approval of the closing of the River Bend Middle School Kennel Club activity account, allowing funds to be transferred to Concessions, and creation a new account for Middle School PTO
D) Approval of the bid for 2022-2023 snow removal
E) Accepted gifts to the District from the Athletic Boosters for Football ($3089), Volleyball ($1385.92), Weight Room ($2485.55), and Golf ($79.99) totaling $7040.46.
The next meeting of the River Bend District Board of Education is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19, at 6:30 p.m.
