Richard Eugene Dombroski, 77, of Morrison, IL, died on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Allure of Sterling, IL.
Richard was born on September 19, 1946, in Sterling, the son of Edward and Patricia (Kroff) Dombroski. He married Mary Beth Bauer on May 7, 1966, in Prophetstown, IL. Richard owned and operated Dombroski Builders for many years. He was involved with many area historic restoration projects, including the Lincoln-Manahan Home in Sterling. He also loved birds, and enjoyed spending time with his Cockatiel. Richard was a great chess player, long-distance bike rider, and Rip’s chicken fanatic.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Dombroski, of Morrison; daughters, Barb (Greg) Barnet, of Platteville, WI, Jennifer (Richard) Dean, of Pine Island, MN, and Anne (Steve) Brokman, of Huxley,IA; five grandchildren, Laurel and Jonah Barnet, of Ames, IA, Kirsten Dean, of Pine Island, Courtney (Oscar) Rodriguez, of Rochester, MN, and Silas Brokman, of Huxley, IA; step-grandchildren, Mandy (Jon) Tinley, of Camanche, IA, Isaiah and Micah Tingley; sister, Maggie (John) Hudson, of Rock Falls, IL.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling, IL.
A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
