Richard “Dick” H. Landheer, 87, of Resthave Care & Rehabiltation in Morrison, IL, died Saturday, December 11, 2021, at MercyOne Clinton, in Clinton, IA.
Dick was born November 7, 1934, in Sterling, IL, to Harry and Anna (Gerdes) Landheer. He attended McElrath School in rural Whiteside County. Dick served in the U. S. Army, where he was stationed in Ft. Lee, VA, and also in Germany for a year. He farmed the family farm in the Morrison area, and also worked for Green Giant Company in Lanark, IL. Dick was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling. He enjoyed his farming profession, through and through. Riichard loved to talk with others about farming, and he followed the farm markets.
Survivors include his sister, Leta VanZuiden of Morrison; nephews, Scott VanZuiden of Morrison and Todd (Shannon Martensen) VanZuiden of Delmar, IA; niece, Mindy (Frank) West of Allenspark, CO; great-nieces, Bailey VanZuiden and Anna Johnson; three great-nephews, Brandon VanZuiden, Will (Jessica) Erickson, and Eric Erickson; four great-great–nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Merwyn VanZuiden.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL, officiated by Rev. Makayla Dahleen.
A Visitation will precede the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. The church requires a mask to be worn at all times throughout the building.
Interment with military honors at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL, will be held later the same day, at 2:00 p.m.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
