Richard Dale Boelkins, 71, of Morrison, IL, died Saturday, January 13, 2024, at home.
Richard was born July 10, 1952, in Morrison, to Robert A. and Grace (Van Zuiden) Boelkins. He was educated in the Coleta Grade Schools and was a 1970 graduate of Sterling High School. Rick married Diane K. Peugh on August 3, 1973, in Sterling, IL. He dedicated many years to 3M in Cordova, IL, retiring in 2012. He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church. Rick was an avid outdoorsman, with a particular love for deer and turkey hunting. He was a skilled craftsman, delighting in working with his hands. He generously lent his expertise to numerous family and friends, contributing to various construction projects and home renovations.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Jessica (Jim) White of Morrison; son, Nathan (Julie) Boelkins of Solon, IA; four grandchildren, Carson and Kinley White and Jaxon and Anabelle Boelkins; sister, Judy (Doug) Leech of Morrison; sisters-in-law, Linda Boelkins of Arizona and Linda Webb of Sterling; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randall Boelkins.
There will be a Graveside Service at a later date.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Interment will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL.
A memorial has been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL.
