The Morrison Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon Friday, September 28, 2012, to celebrate the expansion and remodeling of Casey’s General Store, 602 E. Lincolnway, Morrison, IL. Do you know the two important changes implimented last year to offer customers added value?
In March 2011, the store shifted to 24 hour service. In November, they added pizza delivery around-the-clock. The number to call is 815-772-2106.
The delivery service has done “really well,” stated Casey’s Area Supervisor Raylene Moore. “It’s about customer service. This remodel is for our customers; this is their store. It’s a new facelift for some of the existing stores [with] a new color scheme. Savanna has been there since 1991; we are targeting older stores [to bring them] up to date. New stores have the updated style. We want to adjust to the needs of customers and to better serve them,” she concluded.
Less than a year later, there are numerous menu offerings in a stylish, newly-updated facility. These include a submarine sandwich kitchen; salads; cinnamon rolls; soft-serve ice cream machine; slushie machines; expanded coffee bar; walk-in beer “cooler/barn/cave.” Customers likely will define the name of this expansive storage area at the west side of the store. They have full access to 6- and 12-pack beverages, anything packaged.
“There are three different versions of beer and the variety has expanded,” stated Moore.
Moore continued, “I think the subs will be a good thing for us. We’ll deliver them with pizza for special events [such as ball game weekends or parties. There are] “fresh salads and cinnamon rolls.” Moore, at left, is shown with Mallory Story, Morrison Store Manager, at the K. C.’s Freeze frozen carbonated beverage machine. The beer cooler is partially visible in the next photograph.
Both new bathrooms have baby changing stations.
Story said she “hired four or five people for the sub station. The sandwiches are homemade and ready to go. We make our bread fresh,” she added. Assistant Manager of the sub department is Jerrod Creason of Walnut, IL. Brandie Klinkner, of Morrison, is Second Assistant Manager. Creason and Klinkner stand beside Story in the sub kitchen.
