Rhonda J. Weis, 65, of Morrison, IL, died at home surrounded by her family, on Friday, November 2, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Rhonda was born March 20, 1953, in Clinton, IA, to Jean D. and Leona (Schaver) Borgman. She was educated in the Garden Plain Grade School and was a 1971 graduate of Fulton High School. She graduated from Clinton Community College in Clinton. In 1971 she married Edward A. “Ned” Mitchell. On February 26, 1994, she married Roger J. Weis in Galena, IL. Rhonda was a homemaker. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church. She enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles, and Sudoku. She was a cat lover, but her greatest love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and witnessing to her faith.
Survivors include her husband, Roger; two daughters, Andrea (Kelly) Carder of Clinton and Stacy (Serge) Bouldoukian of Galena; four sons, Daniel (Bridget) Mitchell of Clinton, Joshua Mitchell of Fulton, IL, Robert Weis of Galena, and Sean Weis of Dubuque, IA; 11 grandchildren, Alyssa and Kelsey; Kristin and Allyson; Justine, Mackenzie and Noah; Jack; Izabelle, Lydia, and Tate; one sister, Nancy (Jake) Temple of Fulton; two brothers, LaVerne (Kathy) Borgman and Richard (Betty) Borgman, both of Fulton.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Beverly Borgman.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, with a visitation held prior, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Gerald H. Norman, Pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church, will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the service, with a private family interment at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL, at a later date.
Memorials to Ebenezer Reformed Church and Hospice of the Rock River Valley have been established.
