The Resthave Board and Staff joyfully invites the community to our Open House celebrating the completion of a three-year construction and remodeling project, at a reception on Friday, August 7, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
We are proud to present our “new” building and will give enlightening tours, answer questions, and serve guests finger-food with coffee or punch. The address is 408 Maple Avenue, Morrison, IL.

The Friday, August 7, date of our Open House and Reception coincides with the groundbreaking ceremony, which initiated the project on August 7, 2012. A three-year building task was divided into three phases.
- Phase One was the addition of 20 Assisted Living Apartments. This was celebrated on December 15, 2013, with over 300 people viewing the new living arrangements.
- Phase Two began quickly and added a beautiful Nursing wing built around a garden. It added 70 badly-needed private rooms and baths and five Medicare rooms. Phase Two’s Open House was April ??, 2015.
- Phase Three has transformed the old nursing home area to 17 additional Assisted Living Apartments. Two dining rooms, a physical therapy room, a variety of offices, and a sun porch have been added.
The 54 years of Resthave’s history demonstrates the faith of the community’s churches, to build a “Home for the Aged” in 1957. This first home to care for those of the community housed 23 residents and was opened in 1961. In 1969, a Nursing wing was added in a T-shape, to house 49 residents. The successive boards, made of members from each church, have demonstrated foresight and faith in each addition, making Resthave a home of dignity, caring, and peace. In 1982, an activity room was added to the Nursing side, which allowed residents a place to both dine and use for educational, religious, and social programs.
These past three years, another board took the steps to bring Resthave into the new millennium. With 37 Assisted Living Apartments–four of which are doubles–and 70 private Nursing Rooms–two of which are double–Resthave’s population has grown from 23 residents in 1961, to 113 residents and a staff over 125 people!
