During a time of concern and a changing environment, Resthave Care & Rehabilitation, 408 Maple Avenue, in Morrison, IL, shared their good fortune with the public, on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

The Assisted Living and Nursing facility had three exciting, recent achievements, that were cause for the community to gather and share in Resthave’s pride.

Resthave Care & Rehabilitation recently was awarded the “2021 Facility of the Year” recognition, by the Illinois Health Care Association.  Jill Smith was named “Administrator of the Year.”  Resthave is celebrating its 60th year in existence.

Thus, the community was offered a free, drive-through dinner, with gifts for all vehicles from Resthave and cooperating local businesses.  Every vehicle received a lap blanket and a bottle of “sparklin’ apple cider.”  Every tenth vehicle received a gift from a local business.  In an effort to recognize the longevity celebration of the facility, the 60th vehicle was presented a special gift of wine, beer, crackers, chocolates, and small snacks.

The line up formed early and remained steady.  Employees and volunteers greeted all with smiles and laughter in a true celebratory atmosphere.  The warm sun and cloudless sky allowed many residents to watch the festivities from the patio, while 385 meals were distributed in an hour and ten minutes!

Each meal and gift carried a special Thank You card:  “Cheers to 60 years!  We feel honored and blessed to be able to serve this wonderful community.  Thanks for celebrating 60 wonderful years with us!”

This residential facility truly appreciates the community support and shows that appreciation, by caring for the residents in a fashion that earns State recognition.
