Residential Tree Planting Incentive by Garden Club

Posted by

Morrison Garden Club President Sharon Moore submitted this press release.

Many of us in Morrison, IL, have lost trees due to storms and disease. Morrison Garden Club would like to help encourage residents to replace some of those trees. The club is sponsoring a “tree planting reimbursement program” this fall.

We will reimburse “up to $50” for one tree that you plant this fall in your yard. This offer is available to the first 40 participants who reside in Morrison.

We wrote guidelines and provided a list of trees suggested for our area. The program runs through Tuesday, November 1, 2022–unless we reach our 40 reimbursements before then.

Editor’s note: The photo shows an Eastern Redbud tree, like the Garden Club planted at the City of Morrison Bark Park earlier this month.

If you have questions, please text Kelly West at 815-499-4885. She will call and answer your questions.

To print a copy of the packet containing the guidelines, tree list, reimbursement form, etc., email Nancy at: nancycstevens@gmail.com.

Limited copies of the packet will also be available at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison Street, Morrison, IL, immediately. Pick up the “Under the Canopy” brochure while you are there. It contains great information on tree planting as well.
