Cory Law, of Whiteside County Health Department, reported he was notified by representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), about problems citizens are having when applying for Public Assistance. This funding is related to COVID-19. Technical difficulties caused delays and sometimes prevented IEMA from being notified or working with an applicant through the application process.
Applicants interested in IEMA Public Assistance should submit the Request for Public Assistance (RPA) through email to PA.Grants@illinois.gov. The deadline to submit is October 22, 2020. This will allow IEMA to assist the applicant through the remaining steps and better serve as a resource.
Individuals with questions can reach out to IEMA at PA.Grants@illinois.gov or Cory Law at claw@whitesidehealth.org.
The Request for Public Assistance (RPA) and additional documents and guidance can be found at IEMA’s Public Assistance webpage, https://www2.illinois.gov/iema/LocalEMA/Pages/PA_Forms.aspx.
